Hopefully, when this does occur, it will prevent the formation of one single NH zone from the now current 3 zones. It is supposed to strengthen the Hadly cell. This is good news as climate change on it’s own, due to polar amplification, would play strong havoc with the stratospheric ozone, making CFC look like a mild cold. We would get an ICU lung patient instead. If the merge happens prior to the AMOC tipping point, climate and the jet streams would go absolutely haywire, perhaps like The Day After. LS
